TORONTO, ON and CALGARY, AB — April 20, 2026 — Serenity Power, a Canadian low-emission energy startup developing next-generation power systems, has secured $300,000 in funding from Alberta Innovates to accelerate the development of its first minimum viable product.
The funding will support the design, build, and testing of Serenity Power's compact, fuel-flexible power system, enabling efficient, low-emission power generation for off-grid and industrial applications.
Serenity Power's technology utilizes solid oxide fuel cells to convert fuels such as hydrogen, natural gas, and blended fuels into lower-emission electricity through electrochemical processes, offering a high-efficiency alternative to conventional combustion generators.
"Support from Alberta Innovates is an important step for Serenity Power as we move from lab-scale to real-world deployment," said Aleisha Reese Cerny, CEO and Co-founder of Serenity Power. "This funding enables us to accelerate our prototype development and bring an integrated, lower-emission power solution to industries that need reliable energy options, including Alberta's energy sector."
The project aligns with Alberta's broader strategy to advance hydrogen and low-emission energy technologies that reduce emissions, create jobs, and strengthen the province's energy transition.
By advancing its MVP, Serenity Power aims to test a portable solution that can replace conventional combustion systems in remote and high-emitting environments while supporting operational reliability.
